Liquor License

 

                                                                                          LIQUOR LICENSE

 

 

All establishments which sells or supply liquor must obtain authorization from the liquor license board of the Cayo District.  This license authorizes the sale of wine, ale, cider, liqueurs, cordials and other spirituous or fermented liquor of an intoxicating nature.

The following are the various types of license :

PUBLICAN GENERAL:                 for the sale of liquor in unbroken packages for consumption off the premises ( including wholesale establishments)

SHOP LICENSE                              for the sale by retail of liquor and beer, stout or wine in sealed containers for consumption off the premises

MALT LICENSE                              for the sale by retail of wine, ale, beer, cider, or stout for   consumption on the premises.

BEER LICENSE                              for the sale by RETAIL of beer or stout only in sealed containers for consumption off the premises.

HOTEL LICENSE                           for the sale of liquor, beer, stout or wine in sealed containers for consumption off the premises only to hotel guests or a bona fide traveler in person

RESTAURANT                                for the sale of liquor in the restaurant for consumption on the premises (only with meal it.)

PUBLICAN’S  GENERAL              for the sale by retail of liquor for consumption on the premises

 

CONVENIENCE STORE               for the sale by retail of liquor, beer, stout or wine in sealed containers for consumption off the premises.

NIGHT CLUB                                   for the sale by retail of liquor for consumption on the premises       

All Liquor license applicants must place an advertisement in any local newspaper at least 30 days before the meeting and attach the clipping of the ad with the completed application form:
Applications are reviewed by the Liquor Licensing Board.  The board meets quarterly: in January, April, July, and October of each year.  

If the customer wishes to commence a liquor license establishment immediately they must pay $100 for a special liquor license meeting. Applicants should be present for the meeting. After approval, a Liquor License is issued to the license holder. The liquor license certificate should be displayed in the establishment at all times.
