SANITATION & MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
- The Sanitation Department is responsible for:
* The cleaning of loose garbage including hotspots
*Culvert cleaning and dig out
* Supervising the cutting/cleaning and weeding of lots/abandoned or empty
(owner in the states, or can’t be located)
* Derelict vehicles (Section 6 of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act
- The Sanitation department and Works department are currently involved in an
Infrastructure drainage project. The responsibilities of this department includes:
* Maintenance of infrastructural drains
* Construction of drains
* Construction of drainage
* Installation of culverts
* Maintenance of bridges
* Maintenance of waterways
* Rehabilitation of streets
* Maintenance of streets
* Expansion of streets
* Maintenance of Parks and Playgrounds
* Maintenance of Town Council buildings and facilities
- This department works closely with the Ministry of Works to collaborate on new
construction and maintenance of roadways.
- The garage unit deals with the daily upkeep and maintenance of the Town Council vehicle
